Lynda and Patrick Caffrey

We are both English, although Patrick is of Irish descent. (His parents were Irish). Patrick was born in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, and grew up there. Lynda was born in Rayleigh, Essex, but grew up in Bedfordshire and then Buckinghamshire.

We met in 1980 and married in 1983. We have travelled extensively to many countries, including: Australia, USA, South Africa, Cuba, Yugoslavia, St Lucia and all over Europe. We have worked abroad too - Lynda in Madeira and Bermuda; Patrick in Jersey and Bermuda. Patrick has worked in hotel restaurants and was a taxi driver before leaving England to come and live in France. He is also qualified in massage and Reiki healing. Lynda has held office jobs in secretarial positions and has worked in exporting. She is also qualified in massage, reflexology, Indian head massage, and Bach Flower Remedies. She has been practising for more than 15 years and has taught short courses in these subjects. If you are interested in any of the above, please talk to us.

For many years, we have wanted to live and work abroad and have now finally settled in France. We took over Chez Clark on 21 June 2005. The previous owners - Mr and Mrs Clark - (hence the name of the Chez Clark) - have now decided to retire after starting up and running the chambres d'hotes for over 12 years.

We have continued to run the chambres d'hotes as Mr and Mrs Clark did, but have introduced some other services (see page Natural Therapies).

Lynda speaks good French and some German and Spanish. Patrick speaks French and some German and Spanish.

We are very happy to be living in the Auvergne, as it is such a beautiful area of France.
